Ani Nahapetyan is from the village of Svarants in the Tatev community. For her, the “Wings for All” program of the “We Are Our Mountains” Development Agency was not just another training course—it was an opportunity to turn her idea into reality.
“When I learned about the program and realized that we would be studying how to write grant projects, my excitement was overwhelming,” Ani recalls.
That excitement was so strong that within just a few days—after mastering the video lessons and completing the assignments—she finished the program ahead of schedule and received her certificate.
Ani’s goal was clear: to transform a space she was renovating with her own efforts in Svarants into a guesthouse and to purchase the necessary furniture. Within the framework of the “Wings for All” program, she applied for a grant with a clearly developed idea and a well-founded business logic.
One of the key values of the program, as Ani notes, was the practical knowledge it provided:
“I have participated in other grant programs as well, but it was here that I learned how to build a truly working financial model, write a business plan, properly formulate my idea, and understand the customer segment.”
As a result of this knowledge and consistent effort, Ani’s project was awarded a grant financed by Araratbank within the “Wings for All” program.
For the “We Are Our Mountains” Development Agency, it is important not only to provide grants, but also to build people’s capacities. Today, Ani Nahapetyan confidently says that she is ready to share her knowledge and support other community members who wish to follow the same path.
She envisions the future of her business clearly: a developed Svarants which, being only 3 km away from Tatev, can become a tourist center for visitors to Syunik.
“I want my village to have the same active life as Tatev, and I will do everything to achieve that goal,” she says.
Grants for four beneficiaries of the program were provided with the financial support of Araratbank, enabling communities to turn ideas into concrete steps toward development.
The “Wings for All” program was implemented within the grant framework of the H. Hovnanyan Family Foundation.
The program is implemented by the “We Are Our Mountains” Development Agency in cooperation with Innobiz NGO and the Tatev Community Center.
