Wings: Rehabilitation Program for Children Displaced from Artsakh

“Wings” is a dedicated 6-week rehabilitation program, designed for children aged 4-18 forcibly displaced from Artsakh due to the tragic events of September 2023.

The program focuses on the restoration of the children’s physical, psychological, and mental well-being, offering essential support during this critical period of adjustment and recovery.

Program components:

  • For children aged 4-18: Restoration of physical and psychological strength through various activities such as sports and art therapy (including swimming, football, art therapy, fairy tale therapy, sand therapy etc.).
  • For adolescents aged 12-18: Emphasis on rebuilding mental resilience, fostering adaptation, and developing leadership and entrepreneurial qualities.

Expected results:

PSYCHOLOGICAL HEALING

Children will learn to cope with their loss, express their emotions and become more resilient. This will help them return to life fully.

SOCIAL INTEGRATION (ADAPTATION PROGRAM)

Children will learn to  effectively establish new social connections, adapt to a new place, and build their support system.

RELIEF AND SUPPORT FOR AFFECTED FAMILIES

Knowing that their children are receiving proper care and support will help alleviate some of the stress and anxiety families may be experiencing.

BREAKING THE VICIOUS CIRCLE OF TRAUMA

We help prevent the vicious cycle of trauma from affecting future generations. Children who receive proper support and healing are more likely to grow into resilient adults, breaking the cycle of trauma in their families and communities.
