Preparations for the project to provide the Artsakh Republican Medical Center with a solar power plant have started

The “We Are Our Mountains” territorial development agency has initiated a new program through which the Artsakh Republican Medical Center will be provided with a solar power plant, enabling the medical facility to rely on an alternative source of energy regardless of power outages or shutdowns of fans.

Within the framework of the project, a solar hybrid power plant will be built to increase the reliability of the medical center’s power supply system. Emergency, surgical, resuscitation, and intensive care departments will be provided with energy as a matter of first priority.

“This is one of our important infrastructure projects, which is vital for the uninterrupted operation of the medical center. This program was initiated based on the ongoing crisis with the aim of creating an alternative reliable energy source for the largest medical facility in Artsakh. We will try to do everything to turn this project into a reality,” says Grigory Martirosyan, head of Artsakh projects for the “We Are Our Mountains” agency.

Mher Musayelyan, executive director of the Artsakh Republican Medical Center, also considers the implementation of such a program critically urgent. “As you know, since January 9, the Azerbaijani side has disrupted the electricity supply from Armenia to Artsakh, so we have to rely on scarce internal resources. Winter is ahead, and we must try to overcome the current difficulties of the blockade and also prepare for winter. We are thankful that we are not alone in this situation,” says Musayelyan.

The project will be implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Artsakh and the Republican Medical Center of Artsakh, thanks to the support of the “We Are Our Mountains” agency’s donors.
