The “We Are Our Mountains” territorial development agency has signed memorandums of cooperation with the Ministry of Social Development and Migration of the Republic of Artsakh and the State Emergency Situations Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh.
According to the memorandums, the “We Are Our Mountains” agency will provide the Ministry of Social Development and Migration of the Republic of Artsakh with about 80 tons of food, free of charge, for distribution to relevant sectors of the population. Additionally, over 180 tons of food will be provided to the State Emergency Situations Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in order to be included in the state reserve of the Republic of Artsakh.
During the blockade, the “We Are Our Mountains” agency, with the funds and support of its donors, launched the “Replenishment of the Food Reserve of Artsakh” program with the goal of acquiring food products which are simultaneously nutritious as well as most conducive to transportation and storage.
“The blockade showed us exactly what kind of primary foods we need. We conferred with experts and selected products that can provide balanced nutrition for the population and are most convenient from the point of view of preservation. Their acquisition and transportation was organized, and now, most of the cargo has already been delivered to Artsakh. The purpose of these memorandums is to transfer the goods to the relevant departments so that they can carry out distribution and further management,” said Grigory Martirosyan, head of the agency’s projects in Artsakh.
The “We Are Our Mountains” territorial development agency initiates and implements development projects in Artsakh and Syunik in close cooperation with the governments of the Republic of Artsakh and the Republic of Armenia, as well as other local, international, and private organizations. “We Are Our Mountains” provides humanitarian aid to the people of Artsakh in times of crisis, contributing to the region’s financial independence, improving primary health care, and supporting children and youth.
