SUPPORT FOR ARTSAKH CRAFTSMEN

Тhe project aims to assist citizens forcibly displaced from Artsakh and resettled in Armenia, leveraging their extensive expertise in various crafts. These individuals, who previously sustained an independent economy in Artsakh, have passed down their skills through generations.  

To empower these artisans, the initiative intends to offer assistance in the form of essential tools and equipment, with costs ranging up to 1300 USD. The support will be extended to professionals in diverse fields, including:  

  • Tailoring  
  • Carpet Weaving  
  • Jewelry Making  
  • Shoemaking  
  • Welding  
  • Tinsmithing  
  • Carpentry  
  • Blacksmithing  
  • Bricklaying  
  • Repair Work (electricians, heating system installers, plumbers, finishing specialists, etc.)  
  • Other Artisanal Trades  

Crucially, this support will prioritize artisans who have taken on at least two apprentices, ensuring the preservation and continuation of these valuable  

traditional crafts.

BENEFICIARIES  

  • Direct beneficiaries: 100 craftsmen and 200 apprentices 
  • Indirect beneficiaries: about 800 family members 

 EXPECTED OUTCOMES 

  • The project will enable resettled craftsmen from Artsakh to swiftly resume their work.  
  • This initiative will play a significant role in preserving Artsakh’s rich traditions and culture.  
  • Furthermore, as a crucial component of the project, over 200 young individuals will benefit from hands-on vocational education, ensuring the continuity of these invaluable skills and traditions for future generations.
