Leadership Continues: Success of the Leaders2Leaders Program

25 participants of the Leaders2Leaders program received certificates. “Leaders2Leaders” is a continuous development program designed for future leaders forcibly displaced from Artsakh.

During the Artsakh blockade, Ruben Vardanyan, founder of the “We are Our Mountains” territorial development agency, and the “Matena” International School of Leadership and Professional Development initiated and implemented the “Leadership and Motivation” program for public and private sector leaders of the Republic of Artsakh. The program continued even under the blockade and was conducted online.

After the forcible displacement of the Artsakh people from their historical homeland, the “We are our Mountains” agency, in collaboration with expert partners, the “Matena” international school, and joint efforts of Harvard and Oxford university Armenian alumni in Armenia, the program continued in Armenia and was renamed Leaders2Leaders.

“This program fully corresponds to Ruben Vardanyan’s approach and vision. Especially now, when Ruben is in captivity in Baku, it is important for us to preserve the spirit of this program and develop it. I am confident that the program’s participation has provided you with new knowledge, and perhaps confidence and the ability to find your role in new social relationships,” said Grigori Martirosyan, Director General of the “We Are Our Mountains” development agency, addressing the beneficiaries.

During the program modules, future leaders develop their leadership qualities and professional capabilities with specialists’ assistance, acquire soft skills, attempt psychological recovery through support, and obtain opportunities to create connections with leading specialists and employers in Armenia.

“After relocation I was hired and appointed to a leadership position, and for the first 6 months I constantly thought I wouldn’t be able to justify expectations and should quit my job. My self-confidence was very low, but thanks to these courses, I first overcame psychological issues, then gained the confidence I needed. Today I already excel in my work,” confesses program participant Kristina Sargsyan.

“Besides acquiring skills and capabilities, we understood that we are a big team. I feel that this program is the platform that will allow us to do great things, to make a leap. I would like it to be continuous,” says program participant Amalya Grigoryan.

Program Coordinator and Educational Initiatives and Human Capital Development Leader Sona Hovhannisyan assured that the agency will take into consideration the beneficiaries’ feedback and continue the program with new modules and more ambitious projects.
